A neck lift involves making incisions behind and in front of your ears to tighten and reshape your neck. While it will smoothen the neck, the results won't be as dramatic as a facelift. It is not an effective treatment for neck-wrinkle-related complaints, however.
Isolated neck lift
A neck lift is a surgery that alters the appearance of the neck. It does not involve removing the entire body. It reduces excess neck fat, and results in a more defined neck. The surgeon may also be able to adjust the position of platysma and remove any excess fat. Depending on the type of neck tissues, an isolated neck lift may also include the placement of a chin implant. The procedure involves an incision behind the ear, with the neck skin tightened primarily behind the earlobes. The procedure generally takes between 12 and 14 days to complete.
Mini-facelift
A mini-facelift can be used to improve the appearance or the health of your neck. It is not as extensive as a full-facelift. This procedure is most commonly performed on individuals between 35 and 65 years old. This procedure is best for people who are healthy and non-smokers. There are no health issues that may affect the recovery process. Mini-facelifts use shorter incisions, and the procedure lifts the mid-face instead of the neck or brow.
T-Z plasty
T-Z plasty necklift procedure is a fairly new technique that combines direct skin and fat removal with platysmaplasty. This tightens your skin's muscles. Dr. Boynton makes a central incision on the neck. He then removes excess skin and tightens neck muscles. Careful suturing is used to redress any remaining skin.

Liposuction
Liposuction for neck lift surgery can improve the appearance of the neck without undergoing a facelift procedure. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. It is usually performed under local anesthesia. Extra comfort may be achieved by light intravenoussedation. The procedure is generally painless, and the sutures used to close the small access incisions dissolve on their own. After the procedure, swelling will decrease and discoloration may begin to fade. In 3-4 days, patients can put on camouflage and resume normal activities. Patients are encouraged to resume physical activity and exercise after this procedure.
